Chapter 22: Charity & Conference
Hi!!!! We're in transfer number 4 now! That's so weird. Feels like I've been doing this for forever. Lots happened this past week. Our finding was seriously so good! We found 6 new people to teach! Most all of which were media referrals, which is awesome!
For our last dcm on Tuesday, we set had it set up outside. I loved it! The weather was perfect! The sun was shining! This week I noticed just how green everything is starting to look!
Wednesday we got transfer news, and Thursday was transfer day. I'm staying here in Nexton, (which means by the end of this transfer I'll have spent 6 months in Charleston), and Sister Sherlock would be going to Steven's Creek, Georgia.
My new companion is Sister Noel! And fun fact, we also came out together! She's literally so fabulous. I already love her. I'm honestly so excited for this transfer!
I was nervous about leading out an area for the first time. But it's not as scary as I thought it was going to be, and I'm not worried about it anymore. Because truthfully, the one who's really leading the area is God. He knows what's happening; He's got it all covered. I just need to do my part, work hard, keep track of things, and follow the inspiration He gives.
GENERAL CONFERENCE! Did y'all watch???
There were so many good talks! As usual. Conference is always a Spiritual bomb.
We tried to watch conference with our friends we're teaching. We bugged every single one of them multiple times and we still weren't able to watch with ANY of them..... sooooo that was great. But conference was still good. I absolutely love how Christ focused it was!! There's nothing better. I especially loved President Nelson's talk on Charity. Charity is something I've been trying to focus more on and have more of in my life. I love that through Christ we can have "love perfected". Charity is a difficult concept to grasp all on it's own. At least for me. We're told to have charity, and to show charity; but the "how" of charity was never really clear to me. At least until I started reading "The Law of Love" by Steve Young. (Thank you Tolmans for sending it to me!!) He breaks down charity and applies it into everyday life. It also really helps me to look at how Christ emulates and shows charity. I know I'm never going to be perfect at it, but I know that because of Christ I can be a little better each and every day.
Easter is on Sunday and I'm literally so excited! I invite each of you to ponder on the importance of Christs' resurrection to you and to read 3 Nephi 11. You will find the comfort and the strength you are looking for as you strive to connect yourself to Christ.
I would absolutely love to hear some of y'alls thoughts about conference! Send me and email or a messenger message if you want, and I'll read it!
I hope y'all know how amazing each and everyone of you are. Remember, I love you, Jesus loves you, God loves you. Happy Easter!
Love, Sister Ray
(P.s. sorry if any of these thoughts aren't all cohesive. I really wasn't feeling it with writing today).

Also! P.S! Here's a really awesome finding story I wanted to share!
I spent the first half of transfer day with Sister Migliori while we waited for our new comps to come down from Columbia. We went to go visit this one person who had previously been taught, but their apartment address was weird and we couldn't find their door. So we knocked on another door with a number semi resembling the one we had written down. A lady opened the door and we started to introduce ourselves, but she said she didn't speak English, so I tried to do the same in Spanish, but turns out she actually speaks Portuguese! She invited us in and pulled out her phone and we ended up having an amazing conversation with her about faith and Christ through google translate!.And it just so happened that we had a Portuguese Book of Mormon in our car, so we ran out to the car, grabbed it and gave it to her. She was immensely grateful and said she knew that God had sent us!
I am so grateful that we have technology to help us do the Lord's work. And that not even a language barrier can withhold the Gospel from spreading and touching lives.
And! Sister Jones came back to SC with her family! They stopped by one day and I got to see her again! I love her!
