Chapter 57: Meetings & Music
Hi y'all! I'm writing kinda late, so Imma try to do this fast.
Tuesday we did service twice. In the morning with the Elders. We helped someone start building a shed. Then later in the afternoon Sister Kenison and I helped a part member family do their animal chores. It was literally so much fun! I held one of the baby bunnies and a one eyed chicken. That family is literally so amazing!!
Wednesday we had Zone Conference! It was really good! The Zone Leaders, Sister Kenison and I prayed and planned a lot for Zone Conference. We we're all super relieved it went well! And for all the training role-plays at the end our recent convert Fabio came and helped out. He loved it, the missionaries loved it. Excellent all around. The Zone Leaders did a great training on pmg 11, (Preach My Gospel) and we also got an amazing Spiritual training from President Hamblin about Repentance. One of my favorite quotes from the conference was "repentance is a bright privilege and not a dark duty". I'll have to write a whole nother email just about that this week and send it out next Monday. We also got Panda Express for dinner!!!!
Thursday I got to record and film a Christmas music video with the cello I have! It's been about a year since I've played, so I feel not as up to par as I was at home. I've had the cello for two weeks, and was able to cram in some practice as often as I could, (still not as much as I would have liked). But I am super grateful for this opportunity. I've been able to rely a lot on the Lord to make up for where I fall short and perfect my efforts. Playing my cello has been an opportunity for me to have many sacred and spiritual experiences through music. The opportunity I now have to share that while on my mission; to share a part of my testimony through a piece of me that I feel like I've been missing, has been a tremendous blessing. I thank God for giving me this gift and for giving me opportunities to consecrate and use what He has given me.
I invite y'all to pick a gift that God has given you and to find a way to consecrate it to Him. Doing this has helped me to recognize even more just how personally my Heavenly Father knows me and is there to support me. It has brought me so so much joy. I know that it will increase your joy as you also do so!
Friday we had zlc in Aiken. So that took up half the day. But we were able to find a new friend to teach!! And on Saturday we found another friend! Y'all. I didn't realize how much not talking to people about Jesus and His Gospel was making me feel blah until we found them. Don't get me wrong, meetings are great and very very needed and useful when properly planned and executed with the Spirit. And service is great too! But it just feel so GOOD to teach my brothers and sisters the truths of the Gospel that they are searching for!
Sunday was kinda long. We were at the church basically all day. We didn't get to do any pros that day. Rip.... but our Sacrament meetings and 2nd hour classes were really good!
Anyways! Hope you have a great week! Don't forget to share Jesus. And please never forget that God love you, Jesus loves you, and I love you.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
-Sis Ray
