Chapter 58: Rain Puddles & Elder Twiss' socks
Hi y'all! Here's last weeks email. It's probably going to be short and a bit scattered, but it's here.
Tuesday was the last dcm of the transfer. We did airplane journals ofc. That night we had a lesson with our a new friend. He forgot abt our appointment and was abt to head out with his family, but the member we brought with us came in clutch and our friend let us in because he wanted to hear what the member had to say! We had such an amazing lesson talking about prophets and introducing the Book of Mormon!
He is so ready for the Gospel, and so humble to the Spirit. Before we left we invited our friend to pray to know what we were teaching was true and to read the Book of Mormon; he had the best response, "I don't even have to read this book to know it's true. The Spirit that y'all bring tells me that it must be."
Thursday was Sister Kenison's last day. Saddness. But we had a great day! We visited lots of people, had lunch with a member from Sumter Sister Kenison served around. We had dinner with the Smiths, then we went caroling in North Augusta with our district! That was so much fun! The ZL's showed up and joined us. Y'all. We caroled to Dolly Partons niece!! She took a video of us singing Silent Night and sent it to her aunt. So now Dolly Parton has a video of a bunch of missionaries singing to her. Pretty epic.
Friday was transfers! Sister Jolley is my new companion!! I lover her! We were in the same zone in Charleston when she first came to the mission.
We went to a baptism Saturday morning for the ZL's. Oh yeah, they got mixed up at transfers too. Elder Vaivaka and Elder Wall both got moved. Elder Twiss is still hanging around, his new comp is Elder Black!
Sunday I gave a talk in church and we played missionary jeopardy in mission prep. That was a lot of fun! It also rained lots on Sunday. There was a really nice big puddle in the parking lot. Sooooo of course I had to jump in it. Brought me so much joy. It's the simple things in life. It made a big splash! Which resulted in my socks getting drenched despite my rain boots. I wasn't about to spend the rest of the day with wet socks, but our apartment was too long of a drive away... so I bugged the Elders and asked if I could steal some of their socks. Lol.
God loves you, Jesus loves you, and I love you.
